Postal Photos

Postal Photos began as a personal way to stay connected. In the months leading up to graduation, I was sad about losing the everyday closeness I had with friends, and I did not want those relationships to exist only through screens. So I started printing my photography on postcards each month and mailing them to friends and family around the world, with a short note about my life on the back.

The response was immediate. People loved receiving something physical in the mail, and I loved having a way to share my photography in print without the pressure of an expensive fine-art print. A postcard felt personal, approachable, accessible, and lasting, a small object that could carry both an image and a connection.

Eventually, other photographers began asking how they could start their own "postcard club." That was the moment Postal Photos became bigger than my own mailings. I realized I had built a process that was meaningful but complicated, and I wanted to make it simple for other photographers to share their work this way too.

Postal Photos helps photographers launch postcard clubs by uploading one photo each month. From there, I handle the printing, packaging, shipping, customer service, subscription management, and fulfillment. I also built the software, photographer dashboard, and internal operations system that allow the service to scale while preserving the care and quality of the original idea.

At its core, Postal Photos is a decentralized publishing system for photographers, a way to share work beyond screens, in a slower, more personal, and more accessible format, with the people who care most about it. To date, Postal Photos has partnered with more than 30 photographers and helped send thousands of postcards each month to members across all 50 states and 10 countries. What began as a way to stay close to my own friends has grown into a service, community, and new way for photographers to publish their work in print.
